Hey, I’m Vicky, welcome to my little corner of and I guess this is the place where I tell you about how I’m fixated on investigating the world, meeting astonishing individuals, and getting as lost as conceivable with my camera.

How to Reach KP Falls?

Yes, first things first. Let’s discuss the primary routes and ways to reach KP Falls Khopoli:

To reach KP Falls, also known as
Khopoli Railway Bridge Waterfall, you can take a specific trek route from Khopoli. Getting to Khopoli is easy, as it is well-connected by bus, train, and private vehicles. Once you’re in Khopoli, you can head towards Zenith Colony or Zenith Waterfall by asking locals for directions or using navigation apps like Google Maps.

You can also trek from Monkey Cabin railway station towards Nagnath railway station on the Pune-Mumbai rail route.

The trek is approximately 4 kilometers long and takes about 2 hours. The trail is well-maintained and easy to follow. But, be sure to be aware of the trains that pass by frequently. Several tunnels are also along the way, some over 1 kilometer long.

The route to KP Falls diverges from the Zenith Waterfall route at Datta Mandir in Khopoli. You can drive your vehicle to the temple and park there to begin your trek. Look out for a prominent tree near the Datta Mandir, and the trek starts from the left side of it. The trek route is straightforward; walk straight toward the visible railway bridge.

However, it’s important to note that there have been some issues on weekends due to cases of drunken behavior reported at Zenith Waterfall. As a result, the police have restricted access to both the road routes leading to Datta Mandir from Zenith Colony and the normal route.

Some Other Routes

The Khopoli route is the safer and more recommended route. It starts from Khopoli town and takes about 2 hours to reach the falls. The trail is well-maintained, easy to follow, and does not involve walking on live railway tracks.

The railway track route is more adventurous but also more dangerous. It involves walking through multiple railway tunnels and on live railway tracks. This is not recommended for inexperienced hikers or those uncomfortable with heights.

Please know the risks involved if you plan to take the railway track route. Wear proper footwear, be aware of the trains, and do not hike alone.

Here are the instructions for reaching KP Falls via the Khopoli route:

  1. Take a train to Khopoli station.
  2. From Khopoli station, take a rickshaw or cab to the start of the trail.
  3. Follow the trail for about 2 hours until you reach the falls.

Here are the instructions for reaching KP Falls via the railway track route:

  • Take a train to Monkey Hill Cabin railway station.
  • Walk on the railway track towards Nagnath station from Monkey Hill Cabin railway station.
  • You will come across multiple tunnels, including one over 1 kilometer long.
  • Be sure to be aware of the trains and avoid hiking alone.
  • Continue walking on the railway track until you reach KP Falls.

But worry not. There is a solution! Some adventurous souls have found a way to divert the police’s attention and still reach KP Falls. One alternative is to go to SaiBaba Nagar, which is approximately 15 minutes away from Datta Mandir. From there, you can park your bike and walk or trek around Zenith Colony to meet the trek route. It comes from Datta Mandir, midway.

Here are some tips for reaching KP Falls:

Start your trek early in the morning to avoid the heat and crowds.

  • Wear comfortable shoes and clothing that is appropriate for the weather.
  • Bring plenty of water and snacks.
  • Be aware of the trains that pass by frequently.
  • Feel free to ask for help from other hikers.

  • Hike with a friend or group of friends for safety and companionship.
